
Counseling Policies
Scheduling
Counseling services are available by appointment only. If a client needs to reschedule or cancel a counseling session, it is required that they let me know at least 24 hours in advance. If a client does not cancel/reschedule at least 24 hours in advance, the full session fee is charged. Scheduling and cancellations can be communicated by email.
Fee
My session fee is $140 per therapeutic hour (50 minutes) and payments are due at the time of the session. I accept cash, credit/debit cards, and checks. I do not take insurance but would be happy to provide a receipt for you to file on your own. Arrangements for reduced fee sessions are offered on a limited basis. Please inquire about reduced fee if needed.
Confidentiality
It is important that clients know and can trust that what they share in a counseling session will be held in confidence, as often clients are sharing extremely personal information. Exceptions to confidentiality are legally required in the following scenarios:
A counselor believes a client is at risk of hurting themself/another person
A counselor suspects child abuse or abuse of adults who are vulnerable or impaired (elders, disabled)
A counselor’s records are subpoenaed by the court (in legal cases)
Emergencies
I am not available to respond in the case of emergencies outside of session. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency (ex: you are feeling suicidal, unsafe, or are in crisis), please call the crisis help line at 615-244-7444 or go to the nearest emergency room.
